My name is Laura Thomas.  I am the proud mother of two lovely boys:  Oliver, 7 years old and Tristan, 3 years old.

I live in a brand new semi-detached house in a new community development located in the Plateau area of Aylmer, Quebec.  I have a cozy, bright finished basement apartment which I have devoted entirely to my daycare.  There is a collection of toys for both boys and girls of varying ages (preschool and school age) which all the children are welcome to enjoy. 

I am a teacher, by trade, having completed a BA degree (Carleton University) and a post-graduate certification course, for Teachers of English as a Second Language, from Algonquin College.  I continue to work part time as an ESL instructor, as well as a language teacher-trainer. 

My teaching credentials have allowed me a variety of past employment positions also in the field of Early Childhood education.  I love all children and am passionate about education.  I know, first hand, as a mother how terribly important it is to find a good carer for one's child.  The importance of this task cannot be understated.  With this in mind, I am devoted to providing the best care possible to each child at my daycare.  I believe in a variety of age appropriate daily activities including free-play, arts & crafts, access to lots of books, outdoor time, music, song and dance.



 
Balanced nutrition is important in our home. While I provide only healthy wholesome meals, treats are not discouraged in the form of everything homemade:  muffins, cookies, granola bars, chocolate (yes, I sometimes make homemade chocolate!!!) to name a few things.  I do not believe in refined, pre-cooked and packaged foods.  I try to make everything from scratch, as much as possible.  The same way I feed my own family.
